The Urodynamic and Rehabilitation of Urinary Incontinence Department
The Urodynamic and Rehabilitation of Urinary Incontinence Department of Lowenstein Hospital diagnoses and treats those who have such disorders, which are common within peripheral or central nerve damages. The Unit carries out tests for inpatients from all Hospital departments, and particularly from the Spinal Rehabilitation Department. The Unit also accepts patients who were referred by The National Insurance Institute and community clinics.
Dr. Vadim Blubstein, senior physician and Assistant Manager of the Spinal Rehabilitation Department of Lowenstein Hospital, manages the Unit which exists since 1993. Dr. Blubstein is Physics Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist and he is in charge of carrying out the Urodynamic tests, with the professional cooperation of a nurse.
The Urodynamic tests being held in the Unit play an important role within the rehabilitation of patients who have Urinary Incontinence. In the near future, the Unit testing system will be upgraded into an advanced system called “Video-Urodynamic”, which combines volume and pressure estimations of the bladder with imaging of the urination process.
